Index Ventures raises $700 million for ‘growth’ deals
Index Ventures has raised €650 million for its third growth equity fund, according to a regulatory filing. This appears to be significantly more than the €500 million it raised for its second growth equity fund in late 2011, but currency conversions actually put both vehicles at around $700 million.
The firm also is currently investing out of a €400 million Fund VII for early-stage investments.
Index focuses on tech and lifer sciences opportunities in Europe and the U.S. Current portfolio companies include Dropbox, Etsy, Lookout, Outbrain, Secret, Sonos, Wealthfront and Zendesk.
