FORTUNE — Angela Ahrendts, Apple’s (AAPL) most prominent executive hire since Steve Jobs, landed on the corporate webpage late Thursday above her new title: Senior Vice President Retail and Online Stores.
It’s classic clash of cultures: London’s glamorous Regent Street, where Ahrendts re-invigorated Burberry’s (BURBY) moldy brand, and Cupertino’s nerdy Infinite Loop, where Tim Cook runs a tightly wound ship.
The contrast with Cook couldn’t be more striking, and invites speculation about what kind of corporate makeover Apple is trying to engineer.
Fortune has not been immune to Ahrendt’s charms. She appeared on the cover of the European edition of the magazine two years ago — long before Apple — and for the past six months we’ve been covering her like a Leather Touch Screen Glove ($495 at Burberry).
