Fortune MPW: Next Gen honors and unites rising star women across all industries.

FORTUNE — Fortune is launching a new extension to its fast-growing Most Powerful Women lineup. The Fortune Most Powerful Women Next Gen conference will be held December 2-3 at the Ritz-Carlton in San Francisco.
The new conference is the latest iteration of Fortune Most Powerful Women, which began in 1998 as an annual ranking of top women business leaders in the magazine, became a conference the next year and is now a global community that includes invitation-only events in Europe and Asia as well as Washington, New York and the main MPW Summit (October 6-8 in Laguna Niguel, CA).
MPW Next Gen will serve the next generation of female leaders. From entrepreneurs to social activists to Fortune 500 executives, the rising crop of talented women view power differently than their predecessors. The December conference will celebrate their varying definitions of success.
We like to think of Next Gen as MPW’s hip younger sister, engaging younger women leaders in business, philanthropy, government, sports and the arts—dynamic executives, innovators and disruptors who are creatively tackling issues with a focused ambition that drives them to take on the world. The on-stage conversations will cover the business, political, and societal issues of the day — as well as career-related topics like negotiation, crisis management and more.
Fortune Senior Editor-at-large and Executive Director of MPW/Live Content Pattie Sellers and the event’s co-chairs — Fortune Assistant Managing Editor Leigh Gallagher, Fortune reporter and MPW Manager Colleen Leahey and Fortune Writer Michal Lev-Ram–will curate speakers and participants via nominations for the MPW community, as well as suggestions from Fortune readers. For information on how you can participate or nominate an MPW Next Gen leader, visit the Fortune MPW Next Gen website.
