Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. has agreed to acquire Gaithersberg, Md.-based landscaping company Brickman Group Holdings from Leonard Green & Partners for $1.6 billion. The deal is expected to close by year-end. Others bidders reportedly had included The Blackstone Group, CVC Capital Partners and TPG Capital. Barclays and Morgan Stanley managed the

Abraaj Capital and TPG Capital are partnering on a rival bid to KKR for a 60% stake in Saudi Arabian fast-food chain Kudu, according to Reuters. Earlier reports suggested that the deal could be valued at upwards of $300 million.

Avenue Capital Group and JZ Capital Partners (LSE: JZCP) have partnered to form Toro Finance, a provider of short-term receivables finance to the suppliers of major Spanish companies. The company is expected to have roughly €400 million of assets at launch.

CCS Healthcare
, a Swedish maker of skincare products, has agreed to acquire Propyless, a propylene glycol used for dry skin and other dermatological conditions, from Merck Sharp & Dohme (Sweden) AB. No financial terms were disclosed. CCS Healthcare is a portfolio company of private equity firm Segulah.

Electra Partners has made it to the second round of bidding for the administration services arm of Channel Islands-based law firm Ogier Group, according to LBO Wire. The deal could be worth around £180 million, with 3i Group also reported to have interest.

Jacana Partners has invested an undisclosed amount into Process and Plant Sales Ghana Ltd., a Ghana-based provider of industrial products and services to the mining, construction and processing industries.

SAFE Security, a San Ramon, Calif.-based portfolio company of ICV Partners, has over 16,000 CastleRock Security residential and commercial alarm monitoring subscriber accounts from Alarm Funding Associates, a subsidiary of Sinclair Broadcast Group (Nasdaq: SBGI). No financial terms were disclosed.

World First UK Ltd., a London-based provider of foreign exchange, international payment and hedging solutions to corporate and private clients, has secured a “significant minority growth equity investment” from FTV Capital.
