Civitas Therapeutics Inc., a Chelsea, Mass.-based developer of a  Parkinson’s disease  treatment that leverages a respiratory delivery platform, has raised $38 million in Series B funding. Bay City Capital led the round, and was joined by RA Capital, an undisclosed public investment fund and return backers Alkermes PLC, Canaan Partners, Fountain Healthcare Partners and Longitude

Maker Studios, a YouTube-based studio, has raised $26 million in new VC funding. Canal+ (France), Astro (Malaysia) and SingTel Innov8 (Singapore) were joined by return backers Time Warner Investments (lead), Upfront Ventures, Greycroft Partners and Downey Ventures. Read more.

Salsify, a Boston-based provider of cloud-based product content management solutions, has raised $8 million in Series A funding from North Bridge Venture Partners and Matrix

Nuxeo, a Paris-based provider of a content management platform for business applications, has raised $3.8 million in new VC funding from OTC Asset Management and OTC Extend. The company previously raised $5.7 million.

Easy Metrics Inc., a Seattle-based business intelligence platform for employee performance metrics, has raised $3.3 million in Series A funding led by SJF

Matterport Inc.
, a Mountain View, Calif.-based provider of cloud-based 3d models of interior spaces, has raised $2.8 million in Series A-1 funding. The company has raised a total of $10 million, from Lux Capital, Felicis Ventures, Greylock Partners, Navitas Capital, Qualcomm Ventures, Red Swan Ventures, Rothenberg Ventures and individual angels like Gordon Segal (Crate & Barrel founder) and Blake Krikorian (Sling Media co-founder).

Pinnatta Inc.
, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based interactive multimedia messaging platform, has raised $1.5 million in Series A funding from Greek venture firms Odyssey Venture Partners and PJ Tech Catalyst. The company previously raised $700,000 in seed funding led by i-Free and Cherubic

, a Philadelphia-based AWS optimization and capacity planning platform, has raised $1.2 million in seed funding. MissionOG and Gabriel Investments co-led the round, and were joined by individual angels.

Wipit Inc., a Los Angeles-based mobile payments startup, has raised an undisclosed amount of Series A funding from Core Innovation
