Richard Bressler is STILL a buyout exec

FORTUNE — Richard Bressler has not resigned as a managing director with buyout firm Thomas H. Lee Partners, despite a media trade report that he had.

“It’s 100% not true,” said a THL spokesman. “Rich hasn’t resigned from THL and has no intention of resigning.”

Bressler’s name had appeared in a recent edition of The Delaney Report, which said he had resigned and that his name was being floated for the soon-to-be vacant CEO position at Time Inc., the Time Warner (TWX) magazine division that is being spun off into an independent entity (disclaimer: that would make him my boss).

The speculation makes sense, given that Bressler was is a onetime Time Warner executive who has worked on THL media investments like Clear Channel Communications, Nielsen Cos. (NLSN) and Univision. But, again, the firm says that he’s staying put. Ditto for both Clear Channel and Nielsen.

And Bressler is likely at THL for the long run, since the Boston-based firm is gearing up to raise a new fund later this year.

I’ve reached out to The Delaney Report for comment, and will update this post if it’s forthcoming.
