Anchorage Capital Group and Indigo Partners are in talks to acquire discount air carrier Frontier Airlines from Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: RJET), according to the WSJ. The deal could be valued at more than $1 billion, including debt. www.rjet.com

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. has agreed to acquire around a 75% stake in Indian tire maker Alliance Tire Group for approximately $500 million from Warburg Pincus, according to Reuters. KKR also would acquire around $125 million in Alliance Tire debt. www.kkr.com

LANDesk Software, a systems lifecycle management company owned by Thoma Bravo, has acquired the Protect product family of IT management solutions from VMware (NYSE: VMW). No financial terms were disclosed. VMWare originally acquired the assets via its 2011 purchase of Shavlik Technologies. www.landesk.com

Ronnoco Coffee LLC, a portfolio company of Huron Capital Partners, has acquired coffee distributor International Blends. No financial terms were disclosed. www.ronnoco.com

VTB Capital
of Russia has acquired an undisclosed stake in Moscow-based satellite television provider Tricolor TV, with plans to bring it public in 2015. www.tricolor.tv
