Verizon signs up for Google ads on FiOS

Another big partnership will allow Google to sell ad spots on Verizon FiOS TV.

There seems to be no end to the business opportunities for Google (GOOG) and Verizon (VZ).  Not only are the two companies building a strong Android coalition on Verizon’s wireless network (and co-authoring net-neutrality proposals), today Verizon signed up with GoogleTV ads on its FiOS network.

Today we’ve strengthened the reach of the Google TV Ads platform even further by signing a partnership with Verizon FiOS TV, one of the fastest growing television providers with the largest fiber-optic network in the US. By adding over 50 networks on Verizon FiOS TV across 3.3 million homes, we can offer you growing access to the audiences you want to reach on television.

The deal will start bearing fruit at the beginning of 2011 and will be able to reach 35 million households, or almost one-third of all U.S. cable and satellite homes.

Google announced a similar deal with DirectTV in August.

Google’s Display business is considered one of its pillars for growth. Deals like this show execution on those growth goals.  Google’s stock is up 15 points today within the wider market.
