AdAge got their hands on some secret Google documents over the weekend which detail how much some big companies spend on Google Adwords.  Here’s the big graphic:

Not surprisingly, BP (BP) blew out its normal spend in June, trying to recover from the Gulf Oil Spill catastrophe.

AT&T (T) Mobility was the big spender for the month, mostly because they had two big new summer products.  The iPhone 4 and the BlackBerry (RIMM) Torch (where’s that Android marketing AT&T?) were both marketed heavily.  Apollo Group, the advertising monster that is the University of Phoenix college, spent almost 7 million in June.  eBay (EBAY) and Amazon (AMZN) both also spent over $5 million.

One big surprise: Google phone OS and advertising rival, Apple (AAPL), spent almost a million dollars in June on Google’s advertising. 

Google (GOOG) isn’t too happy about the leak and the exposure that its biggest ad spenders are now receiving.

“We can’t comment on these figures because we haven’t seen the document in question or determined what these numbers represent,” said Dennis Woodside, VP of Google Americas Operations. “We’re now looking into the possibility that someone improperly disclosed confidential information about our clients, and [we] will take all appropriate action.”
