– A front-page story in today’s New York Times, “Skaters Jump In As Foreclosures Drain the Pool,” picked up this comment from skateboarder Huckleberry Hart on a site called skateandannoy.com. As the economic meltdown leaves thousands of high-priced homes vacant, especially in the west and south, skaters are literally draining the pools to practice their tricks. This brings new meaning to former Fed boss Alan Greenspan’s memorable boom-time term, “irrational exuberance.”
