When Apple’s iPhone was first announced, a lot of the reaction out of Asia was ho-hum. Touch-screen phone? We’ve had those for years. Now that the iPhone has arrived to rave reviews, is the tune changing at all?

Maybe so. A reviewer at gadget site Akihabara News got his hands on a friend’s iPhone, and couldn’t hold back his professions of love:

WOW! But I mean WOW! This thing is a KILLER, ok there still are a couple flaws (keyboard) but the overall feel that I had was really positive!

The thing is that I’m a big fan of the Windows Mobile Solutions and a member of Mobius, I can see nice things shaping up in the Microsoft Mobile future but the iPhone simply blew me away, I can’t wait for a 3G version in Japan, the internet browser is superb!

Lest you think all of Japan is catching iPhone fever ahead of next year’s scheduled iPhone launch there, read the comments on the reviewer’s post.
