I got a dream job with a top investment bank, a job I had wanted all my life. When I interviewed, all the top bosses seemed great. Unfortunately, most of the bosses left the group as I was joining the group. And I was left with a new boss, who must have arrived straight from hell. She was constantly moody and would yell and scream. I later learned she was a heroin user and must have been in withdrawal for large portions of the day. Unfortunately, being a bonus-oriented culture, my colleagues and I had to bear her ridicules for a year. The day I got my bonus, I quit and never felt so good in my life.
