In their own words, Stanleybing.com readers talk about the bullies, narcissists and other crazy bosses they spend their working days with.
A reader from Atlanta writes:
My position was the IT Asset Manager. I earned $85K per year. Through negotiations I either saved (and through cost avoidance) the company $8 Million per year out of a $20 Million budget.
My former boss came in to say he wanted a company brought in that would charge up front $150K and would deliver $300K in savings. After the initial savings, they would be paid 40% of the savings they delivered.
I said “I am very underpaid”. I then presented a plan to hire me to do the same thing at a cost of 5%, or increase my salary to $150K per year.
I was let go because they felt I was trying to blackmail them. They would prefer to pay an outside company up to $3.2 Million for the same benefits I brought.
What do you think? Is this boss crazy?
