I told you last Wednesday that it was coming, and Dell and AMD indeed made an announcement today – and it was pretty ho-hum. As expected, Dell showed off its first two servers based on AMD’s Opteron chips, just hours after Michael Dell and Hector Ruiz shared the stage together at Oracle OpenWorld.
Nice moment for AMD though, as it gets escorted to the prom by the same captain of the football team who used to totally date Intel exclusively. It’s, like, the x86 server version of “She’s All That.”
