In a speech introducing Hillary Clinton to the Democratic National Convention, Chelsea Clinton got extremely personal in talking about her mother in both private and public life.

Chelsea started by talking about her 2-year-old daughter and how much she loves Hillary.

“Above all, she loves FaceTiming with Grandma,” Chelsea said.

Chelsea offered a series of anecdotes about all the things Hillary has done for her family and for others. Much of the examples focused on Clinton’s work in service of children and families, a common theme throughout the DNC.

“As her daughter, I’ve had a front row seat to how she serves,” Chelsea said. “I’ve seen her holding the hands of mothers struggling to feed their kids or get them the healthcare they need, my mother promising to do everything she could to help.”

Chelsea’s speech was well received by the crowd, which was mostly buzzing with anticipation for the speech Hillary was about to deliver.

The speech was, in many ways, similar to the remarks Ivanka Trump gave to introduce her father last week at the Republican National Convention. Both Chelsea and Ivanka have assumed elements of the role traditionally held by the candidate’s spouse.

“I hope that one day my children will be as proud of me as I am of my mother. I’m so grateful to be her daughter,” Chelsea said as she introduced a film about her mother. “I’m so grateful that she’s Charlotte and Aidan’s grandmother.”
