Trump Fans Are Reportedly Issuing Death Threats to Delegates by Ben Geier @FortuneMagazine April 22, 2016, 3:43 PM EDT E-mail Tweet Facebook Linkedin Share icons With the state of the Republican race still very much in the air, some fans of Donald Trump are reportedly taking extreme and scary measures to try to ensure their candidate wins the nomination—threatening delegates with death if they don’t support the New York businessman. Steve House, the Colorado GOP chairman, told Politico that he got an e-mail saying he should hide his family and “pray you make it to Cleveland.” Then he got a phone call saying he should put a gun in his mouth. House says he’s been called by Trump supporters between 4,000 and 5,000 times. Another delegate, who didn’t give a name, said that a Trump supporter threatened “bloodshed” if Trump was denied the nomination. The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Trump has never openly called for violence, though he has hinted that he’d expect riots and that the RNC was in for a “rough July” if he was denied the nomination despite winning the most delegates.
