It may seem odd citing IDC as a source two days after posting an insider tour of their numbers factory (see How the sausage is made), but the report issued Tuesday seems to be based mostly on manufacturer’s reports, not IDC’s guesstimates.
Besides, where else are you going to turn?

In a note, IDC adds its usual caveat: “These data are preliminary and subject to change.”
