President Donald Trump will host German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the White House Friday after months of criticizing her on the campaign trail.
Trump will welcome Merkel at 11:20 a.m. ET before the two go into meetings. In the afternoon, Trump will lead a roundtable discussion on vocational training with business leaders from both countries, according to guidance from the White House. Then he and Merkel will hold a joint press conference before having a working lunch.
Merkel’s arrival will mark her first trip to the U.S. in more than two years and the first time she and Trump have met. Their press conference is scheduled to begin at 1:20 p.m. ET. You can watch it live here.
