Jeb Bush has had a tough 2016 campaign so far, but at least his mom still loves him.

Barbara Bush, the former first lady and wife of President George H.W. Bush, will be campaigning with Jeb in New Hampshire as he attempts to resurrect his campaign and ultimately become third member of his family to occupy the White House.

Barbara has started to play a more active role in Jeb’s campaign in recent weeks. She recently was featured in a video touting Jeb’s credentials. She called him a “hard worker whose heart is big.”

This advertisement provoked the ire of Donald Trump:

Just watched Jeb's ad where he desperately needed mommy to help him. Jeb — mom can't help you with ISIS, the Chinese or with Putin.

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 23, 2016

Trump is currently leading in New Hampshire, where Jeb is desperately trying to get back the support that has been taken from him by both Trump and his fellow Floridian Marco Rubio.

Barbara’s support is a bit of a turnaround from just a few years ago, when she said “we’ve had enough Bushes” in the White House.

Barbara Bush is among the most favorably viewed Bushes—she has taken on a role as a sort of political matriarch. Who knows if this can actually help Jeb in New Hampshire, but it’s unlikely to hurt him.
