A traffic reporter has posted the first image of demolition at the site of Apple's new HQ.

FORTUNE — Ron Cervi, a news and traffic reporter for KCBS, was flying over Cupertino Monday when he snapped this aerial photo. Posted on Instagram, it’s a “before” picture to go with the “after” rendering (below) that Apple AAPL commissioned.

In Steve Jobs’ final public appearance — his 2011 presentation to a starstruck Cupertino city councilĀ — he described the main building of Apple’s new headquarters as looking “a little like a spaceship has landed.” You can watch the video here.
