Hillary Clinton on Friday told campaign volunteers on a conference call that since losing the presidential election on Tuesday, “these have been very, very tough days.”

On the call to volunteers and at an all-staff party in Brooklyn on Friday, she urged campaign staffers to keep fighting for the issues on which she ran her campaign, CNN reported. She noted that she is on track to win the popular vote in the election.

“Listen, this is a hard loss for all of us because we know what was at stake in this election and we’ve got to do everything we can to continue to support the causes we believe in. When you’re ready, I hope you will get back out there and keep fighting. I never thought this campaign was about one person or one election,” Clinton said on the call, according to CNN.

“I think we’ve seen how people have reacted to events of this election and I know that we’ve got to be reaching out to each other to keep it clear in our own minds that what we did is so important,” she added.

Since Tuesday, thousands of protesters across the country have organized marches and rallies against Donald Trump, condemning his racist and sexist rhetoric.

Clinton’s appearance at Friday’s all-staff party was her first since delivering her concession speech on Wednesday. She thanked her aides and asked them not to lose hope.
