Nervous about the election results? President Barack Obama is trying to alleviate some of that stress.
“No matter what happens, the sun will rise in the morning, and America will still be the greatest nation on earth,” he said in a BuzzFeed News Live video on Tuesday evening.
After describing the presidential election as “exhausting, stressful, and sometimes downright weird,” Obama worked to reassure anyone who is nervous about how the whole thing will end. In a two-minute Twitter video, the president spoke directly to Americans, saying that while democracy has always been rowdy and raucous, America will come out on top — just as it always does.
“Whether your chosen candidates win or lose tonight, let’s all agree, not only to stay engaged, but to push ourselves to do even better,” he said.
