Who Should Be Included on Our 2016 Businessperson of the Year List?

Since 2010, Fortune has compiled an annual list of the top people in business. Luminaries such as Tesla’s Elon Musk, Alphabet’s Larry Page, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, and Nike’s Mark Parker have each been named No. 1 in various years. The methodology begins with a rigorous examination of financial results for each executive’s company, including 12-month and 36-month results in revenues, profits, and stock returns; we also factor in measures such as return on capital and debt ratios. Non-financial elements, like business influence, leadership style, and strategic initiatives also play a role in our evaluation.
