J.K. Rowling on Saturday said there would be no more new adventures for Harry Potter, confirming that the eighth installment in the series, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, will be the last story in the saga.
The author of the beloved book series shut down speculations from fans that the latest two-part play and book could be a sign that Rowling may not be done telling Potter’s tale, while speaking at the play’s premiere in London, Reuters reports.
“He goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we’re done,” Rowling told the news agency. “This is the next generation, you know. So, I’m thrilled to see it realized so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now.”
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child picks up 19 years after the end of the original series, with a middle-aged Potter working in the Ministry of Magic and his son, Albus, entering the wizarding world for the first time.
