Whitman praised Christie during a kick-off event for the governor’s New Hampshire primary campaign, and said that the country is experiencing a time of “great uncertainty” that requires a leader with experience.
“I lead a very large organization,” said the Hewlett Packard Enterprise (hpe) chief, in a Periscope recording of her talk. “One thing I know is you cannot drop someone into the most complex management and leadership job in the world with no experience.”
In an interview with the New York Times, Whitman contrasted Christie with fellow Republican presidential nominee Carly Fiorina, who was also once CEO of Hewlett Packard, and said Christie’s political career makes him more suitable to be president.
“I have a lot of respect for her, but I think Chris Christie is our best man for the job,” Whitman told the newspaper.
