Companion Program Overview

One of the exceptional features of the Fortune Global Forum is a complimentary three-day program for our attendees’ companions that is as carefully planned and memorable as the Forum itself.

This year’s host city, Abu Dhabi, is a land of contrasts, where sparkling skyscrapers share the streets with Islamic heritage sites. This remarkable desert city on the shores of the Persian Gulf has evolved with lightning speed since its founding 50 years ago. Today it is a spellbinding mixture of old and new: a modern cultural hub and center of international business and innovation that honors and upholds its rich cultural traditions.

Abu Dhabi is home to a multicultural community that includes some 200 nationalities and fosters a climate of diversity and inclusion. Our Companion Program will explore some of the most distinctive sights and experiences this dynamic and opulent city has to offer, including brief stopovers at some of its most photo-worthy vistas.

Perhaps no site is more emblematic of modern Abu Dhabi than Qasr Al Watan, its magnificent Presidential Palace. We will have the opportunity to tour this cultural landmark that serves as the UAE seat of government. With its glistening white façade, lush gardens, and dramatic interior spaces, it is one of the most iconic destinations in the Middle East. An equally majestic site, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, is a masterpiece of Islamic design that is among the largest and most spectacular mosques in the world. We will tour the mosque with one of its leaders, and visit the nearby Wahat Al Karama war memorial and monument, which includes a massive site-specific sculpture and provides a dramatic perspective for photos of the mosque.

Our tour will also take in the burgeoning cultural district on Saadiyat Island, and include a curator-led tour of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, which operates in partnership with 13 premier French cultural institutions and features a world-class collection that reflects the multicultural heritage of the Arab world. Also on Saadiyat Island, the Abrahamic Family House is a remarkable interfaith complex that unites a mosque, a church, and a synagogue; we will meet with leaders of this diverse community for a tour and briefing that illuminates their efforts to bridge our common humanity.

Other highlights of our incomparable Abu Dhabi experience include a morning fitness activity on the pristine private beach of our hotel, the exquisite Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental. We will enjoy world-class meals prepared by Michelin-starred chefs and take an excursion into the desert complete with camel rides and a demonstration of traditional falconry, a vital symbol of UAE culture. We will also tour the renowned Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital, which serves to protect and conserve captive-bred and wild falcons’ health and the falconry tradition, and is the largest institution of its kind in the world. Everything has been carefully designed to provide a captivating experience of one of world’s most exciting and electrifying cities
