The second largest mobile operator in the U.S. expanded south of the border by purchasing Nextel Mexico for almost $1.9 billion. It also told customers they could roll over unused data from one month to the next, with extra gigabytes expiring after one month. AT&T also settled a $45 million class action case over claims that it violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, though it still faces a lawsuit by the Federal Trade Commission over allegedly reducing data speeds when customers exceeded monthly limits.
