[ MUSIC ] The process that we go through is quite interesting. We decide on a project, and we discover the problems there are with existing products, or there's not a product that does it at all, or at all well. So we start with. Something which needs to be sorted. And then we may have technology that looks as thought it might work or we develop technology that might solve the major problem. And during the process we probably build, we stopped counting them actually, but we probably build thousands of prototypes of one sort or another. I love not knowing anything And I always employ, try to always employ graduate engineers. So I think it's much better to have no experience then to be naive, and to feel as though you're pioneering and be afraid of nothing, And to start with fresh ideas rather then borrowed ideas. [ MUSIC ] When I developed my first cyclone vacuum cleaner, the first vacuum cleaner to not do suction, I was building all the prototypes myself and I built 5, 127 over a period of about four years. And I enjoyed every day of it. And it was pretty dreadful, because every day, I was getting worse further and further into debt, and owing the bank more and more money. But actually, I was incredibly happy. I didn't go out. I couldn't afford a bottle of champagne. But I didn't go out and celebrate when I did my 5, 127th [ UNKNOWN ], and it worked, and it was exactly as I wanted. Because I was onto the next thing then. The next problem. It's a life of continual frustration of failure every day, and when success does come along, it's jolly nice, but it's too late cuz you're ont the next thing. [ MUSIC ]. What I found is that, when I first started when I was very young I used to license my technology. The manufacturers used to keep telling me that, nobody wants something better, nobody wants something well designed, nobody wants something in quality, they want something that's cheap. What I mentioned at rather the reverse That people do want things that are well made. They do want things that'll last. And they're interested in new technology, and they're always looking for something that'll work better, make their lives easier, or use fair materials, or whatever other values we aspire to. So I've learnt that people really do care about that, and look out for it, and want it. And it's not necessarily just rich people who want that, it's everybody wants that. [ MUSIC ] [ BLANK_AUDIO ]
