Right now people are looking for safe havens and this is the ultimate safe haven because it's very un volatile. Farm land has been providing an extremely steady flow of returns and the 11% range for 85 years, slightly better than the S. And P. 500. But without any of the volatility that you see in the S. And P. 500. So those returns are very, very steady. It really has nothing in common with the other safe havens out their gold, which is extremely unsteady. Bitcoin, which is four times as unsteady as gold. People eat the same amount of vegetables. Whether interest rates go up where they go down, those returns stay the same, but you have only 1% of all the farmlands in America that's professionally or rather institutionally owned um Which means that it's really available for investment either by institutions, by banks, by by hedge funds or by the small investor. So this trend is just beginning. But that's a good thing because it's an undiscovered asset And the price has not run up yet. The price of bonds and the price of stocks have run up the game is over right. You're going to get very low returns going for I don't think you're going to get 10 returns from stocks Right. The dividend yield is 1.35%. Forget it, it's not going to happen. So it really is what people are looking for and something like gold or Bitcoin farmland really hasn't. So for this edition of fortunes, Quarterly Investment got I dove into stocks for the 22nd century if an investor was investing for 50 years out in the future, um, thinking about, you know, what the economy would look like in the 22nd century, one of the areas you would like to invest in, mm, Whether it's banks and the way they operate in their business models, whether it's digital wallets and e commerce and the way people transact and pay for different things. I think it's obvious that there's new players emerging in that sector who are disrupting the status quo and, you know, in 50 years from now and beyond. Um it's very likely that the folks who really do dominate the financial services industry are the traditional legacy banking players who are accustomed to. Mhm. I think it's obvious at this point that electric vehicles are going to be the dominant player in the car market, um but, you know, speaking to folks in the investment sector, I think it's quite clear that everybody is bracing for even more significant changes in that autonomous vehicles are, are going to be a reality in the decades to come. I think commercial trucking and commercial transportation will be one of the first sectors to really fielded their commercial trucking firms already working on autonomous uh, break vehicles, and then subsequently for ridesharing companies as well. You know, Uber drivers, left drivers, labor forces represent a huge cost overheads to these companies and that the neighborhood they'll potentially have the ability to completely wipe out by, you know, relying on autonomous vehicles. Yeah, we've already seen a remote doctor's appointments kind of really take hold during the pandemic, something a lot of people have been using. And I think in the future a lot of people following the health care sector think definitely going to accelerate. But in general, I think, you know, science and technology have always pushed healthcare forward. And and those kinds of developments and advancements are really only accelerating, um, the kind of health care That will be receiving as a society in 50 to 100 years. I think everybody expected to be radically different. You're already seeing some of the seeds of that transformation kind of take hold right now.
