Retail titan Walmart is the world’s largest company by revenue, and the big names on its board reflect the company’s scale. The former CEOs of KPMG, Yahoo, PepsiCo, and AT&T are among its directors; and Tom Horton, former chief of American Airlines, is Walmart’s lead independent director.

Walmart has recently invested in employee education, e-commerce partnerships with smaller retailers, health clinics, and Web3, aiming to expand its e-commerce business (which grew by 11% in the fiscal year that ended in January 2022, after growing 79% the year before) and stay competitive in broader retail categories.

Among active executives, Morgan Stanley’s senior client adviser and former vice chairman of wealth management Carla Harris; Sarah Friar, CEO of Nextdoor; and Cesar Conde, chairman of NBCUniversal News Group, round out the group. Also on the board is former Walmart chairman Rob Walton, a former company executive and son of Walmart founder, Sam Walton.
