TerraCycle is an innovative waste management company with a mission to eliminate the idea of waste®. Across 20 countries, TerraCycle partners with leading consumer product companies, retailers and cities to recycle products and packages, from dirty diapers to cigarette butts, that would otherwise end up being landfilled or incinerated. In addition, TerraCycle works with leading consumer product companies to integrate hard to recycle waste streams, such as ocean plastic, into their products and packaging. Its new division, Loop, is the first shopping system that gives consumers a way to shop for their favorite brands in durable, reusable packaging. Being in central New Jersey means TerraCycle is conveniently located between Philadelphia and New York City, which is beneficial for attracting talent. The exterior of the building is colorfully decorated with TerraCycle’s logo and graffiti that changes often, making it a bright spot in the neighborhood and a stop on a city art tour. TerraCycle’s culture is spirited, energetic and diverse, with employees who take pride in its unique mission to eliminate the idea of waste. With the expectation to make the impossible possible, employees work at a fast pace to solve challenges. An emphasis on transparency and creativity is reflected in an open office that is designed without cubicles and furnished with vintage records, bottle “walls,” upcycled art, and graffiti.
