United Technologies has seen sales shoot up 5.2% in the last fiscal year. In February of last year, the Connecticut-based company sold UTC Power, which builds power generation systems, to Oregon's ClearEdge Power. Earlier in 2014, United Technologies was reportedly considering selling helicopter manufacturer Sikorsky, which makes the Black Hawks used by the U.S. military. By selling off assets, United Technologies is looking to give its finances a boost and focus on the promise of increased commercial airplane construction.
