At Farmers Insurance, employees’ ideas aren’t merely listened to—they’re acted upon. Employee-led innovations come straight from the company’s physical and virtual labs, iLab and xLab, where employees brainstormed the idea to use virtual reality as a training solution, including a course around homeowners’ water losses, in partnership with VR company Talespin. Additionally, for employees in need because of emergencies, colleagues can donate to the Farmers Family Fund via payroll contributions to help their coworkers through hardships. As of recently, the fund has distributed $2.4 million in grants. “I have worked for another large company in my career. It came nowhere near what Farmers is when it comes to taking care of their employees and providing a positive work environment,” gushes one employee.
