After ten years working with Ferguson Enterprises and the operation and sale of two successful bus companies, Stephen Philips was approached by a former client to assist them with their supply chain concerns. One thing led to another, and in 2003, Supply Logistics & Procurement Services (SLP) was founded.
SLP offers supply chain processes that allow companies to shift focus from day-to-day operation to strategic function in their supply chain. Its clients cross many industries (e.g. pharmaceuticals, auto, and health care) and include blue chip companies, such as Johnson and Johnsons Pharmaceuticals, Delphi, Cardinal Health, and University of Chicago Hospital.
Additionally, SLP is a big believer in hiring locally. It has hired many qualified employees from the Chicago area and provided them with coaching and training to ensure that they consistently deliver excellent customer services. Its employees have performed so well that many have been hired by clients in positions such as assistant directors, supervisors, and laborers.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, SLP saw the urgent need for personal protective equipment (PPE) and modified its service support model to supply PPE to clients in the medical industry.
