Founded in 2000, DiSorb Systems Inc. manufactures waste management products which are used in hospital operating rooms. Its products, SuperSolid Plus and SafeSorb, solidify and disinfect liquid medical waste in suction canisters. DiSorb Systems Inc. is a certified Service Disabled Veteran-Owned and HUBZone business. In 2015, the Philadelphia-based program initiated a program to distribute medical products from leading healthcare manufacturers to the federal government, primarily the Veterans Affairs. The products DiSorb distributes range from needles and syringes to personal protective equipment and radiology and dental supplies.
DiSorb Systems Inc. is committed to hiring veterans and returning citizens. Almost 70% of its employees are veterans, and many are returning citizens. In 2017, the company hosted an expungement fair, which invited honorably discharged veterans from Pennsylvania that had an arrest or conviction record. As a result of the event, over 50 veterans had their arrest or conviction record expunged. DiSorb Systems Inc. was planning to host another expungement fair earlier this year when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and looks forward to hosting another fair as soon as conditions permit.
