In 1999, Susana Robledo landed her first contract with a local Miami hospital to repair cubicle curtains that provide privacy and protection for patients. With this initial job, Susana launched Cube Care, a service company focused on cubicle curtain repairs and alterations for healthcare facilities. Since then, it has expanded into full-scale curtain design, manufacturing, and installation.
Cube Care is committed to supporting the local community. It partners with a halfway house to provide jobs to prison inmates awaiting release, giving them on-the-job training in skills that they would need to become productive members of society. Additionally, Cube Care supports single-mother employees by providing them a safe area on site to bring their kids until they are old enough to attend pre-kindergarten. Lastly, CEO Susana serves as a board member of the Florida State Minority Supplier Development Council, mentoring minority entrepreneurs to help them build successful businesses.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Miami-based company increased its production of disposable cubicle curtains. It also launched a new product, disposable bedding, which allows healthcare facilities to provide clean sheets to their patients without the risks to staff that come with handling potentially contaminated laundry.
