For Uncorked President and Partner Nick Selby, the way in which his company operates reflects the spirit of Louisiana and their home city of New Orleans. Selby’s mother founded the company shortly before the city was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and Uncorked has survived and thrived thanks to durable relationships with the restaurants, supermarkets, and liquor stores that form their primary customer base. Following Katrina, they brought on a new partner, David Kenney, who has been instrumental in their growth and success. Together they have seen their city rebuild and cultivate an increasingly business-friendly atmosphere post-Katrina. His mother secured one of the first SBA loans in the state following the hurricane. Selby and Kenney have worked to expand Uncorked’s customer base to include major retailers and “Big Box” stores like Costco.
