Under Bill Cromedy’s leadership, Cromedy Construction has grown from a local standout in Philadelphia to a regional firm working from Maine to Maryland. Though Cromedy hopes to someday operate nationally, his Philadelphia roots remain strong. He grew up in foster care, and moved to Philadelphia after college, which to him represented tremendous opportunities—particularly for minority entrepreneurs. While other construction companies have moved to the suburbs as they have grown, Cromedy plans to remain headquartered in Philadelphia. Cromedy Construction is one of the few large minority-owned construction firms, and Cromedy hopes that his firm’s astronomical growth can inspire other minority entrepreneurs.
