HP had $58.5 billion in sales for its fiscal 2018, a 12% gain from the previous year, underscoring that selling personal computers and printers is still a massive business. But it’s not the fast-growing business it once was. People are printing less on paper than before and, because of more-advanced smartphones, are buying fewer PCs; HP’s challenge remains to develop other businesses to replace that revenue.
