Post-it Note maker 3M had another steady year in 2017. Sales increased 5% to $31.7 billion, led by an 11% jump in the electronics and energy segment that sells everything from power lines to mobile device displays. And the company’s share price under CEO Inge Thulin posted an impressive total return of 34% including dividends. Thulin was bumped up to executive chairman effective this July when 30-year 3M veteran Michael Roman took over as CEO.
