Generous margins for Tesoro’s refining business helped the San Antonio company more than double its earnings in 2014. The company’s retail segment more than tripled its earnings thanks to increased demand for fuel at a low price. Tesoro said it plans to increase capital spending in 2015 by 6.5% with some cash earmarked for a fuel conversion project in Utah as well as a planned oil-transfer terminal in Vancouver.
