State Farm’s revenue increased 4.2% in 2014, despite an overall underwriting loss $939 million, due to strong gains in the Bloomington, Ill.-based insurance and financial service company’s stock investments. State Farm’s net worth also grew to a record-high $80.0 billion, compared with $75.9 billion in 2013. In January of 2015 the firm completed a sale of its Canadian businesses in property and casualty and life insurance to Desjardins Group.
