With more than 3,000 restaurants worldwide, Chipotle believes that “how we grow our food is how we grow our future.” In 2021, the fast-casual restaurant purchased more than 35 million pounds of locally grown produce and spent more than $400 million in food premiums over the last two years to buy responsibly sourced and humanely raised ingredients. It’s all part of the company’s efforts to support the next generation of farmers and sustainable agriculture across the globe. Additionally, Chipotle has partnered with the National Young Farmers Coalition to advocate for changes in the 2023 Farm Bill that would provide equitable access to one million acres of farmland to young potential buyers.
