Methodology for 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials

The inaugural list of the 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials list is a “best of the best” ranking. Of the 465 companies with published reviews recently surveyed using Great Place to Work’s Trust Index employee survey, 315 of them surveyed at least 50 employees under age 35. Nearly 90,000 millennial-aged employees from these companies answered 58 questions about how frequently they experience the behaviors that create a great workplace. This resulted in a total score for each company based entirely upon employee feedback.  Great Place to Work’s 2015 list of the 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials was ranked using these scores. 

The Millennials list is the latest in a series of workplace lists determined by Great Place to Work, the workplace culture consulting and research firm that conducts the most thorough surveys of employment practices in corporate America.  The firm’s employer review database contains information about the hiring, perks, benefits, and work practices of more than 400 companies. In partnership with Great Place to Work, Fortune publishes annual lists of the 100 Best Companies to Work For and 50 Best Small and Medium-Size Companies to Work For, as well as a series of industry lists of great workplaces.

Company profiles were written by Claire Groden, Robert Hackett, Laura Lorenzetti, Daniel Roberts, Benjamin Snyder, and Christopher Tkaczyk. Surveys and workplace reviews were administered and written by Kim Peters and Sarah Lewis-Kulin of Great Place to Work.
