USAA prides itself on giving back. Last year, the San Antonio-based company provided $6.9 million to match employee donations to nonprofit organizations that support military and local community needs. The company invested more than $44 million into nonprofits in 2019—a 100% increase in three years. Diversity and inclusion represent another key area of focus for the insurance company, and in addition to initiatives that have helped the company achieve a 50% nonwhite workforce, USAA provides assistance programs like family counseling, college coaching, and support for differently abled employees. “I feel that I am truly cared about, not only on a development level but also on a personal level,” says one employee.
