Employees at TDIndustries are called “partners” because they become shareholders through the employee stock ownership plan. The 69-year-old construction company is 100% employee-owned, with no partner owning more than 4%. After five years, partners are invited to an anniversary breakfast, where the CEO and board chair pay out anniversary checks from $50 to $4,000.
