Palantir, best known for its work with U.S. intelligence agencies, has been rapidly expanding internationally ahead of its planned initial public offering later this year. At the forefront of that push has been Denver-based Ted Mabrey, the company’s head of global commercial business. Since joining Palantir in 2010, Mabrey has helped the company move into new industry segments, including energy, banking, insurance, and manufacturing. According to Palantir’s recently filed IPO prospectus, last year 53% of the company’s revenues came from non-governmental customers and 60% of its revenues came from outside the U.S. During the COVID-19 pandemic he’s helped Palantir’s international clients—such as the U.K.’s National Health Service—use the company’s software to monitor supply chains and keep tabs on such vital tasks as monitoring stockpiles of scarce protective equipment and medicines.
