Michael Phelps Is Honored on a Wheaties Box for Lifetime Achievement

Wheaties plans to honor 23-time gold medalist Michael Phelps with a Lifetime Achievement Award box, the company announced.

This is the third time that Phelps has been featured on the cereal box.

“The greatest athletes in the world have been able to be on the box of Wheaties,“ Phelps said on the Today Show. “To be able to have the first career achievement Wheaties box, it just keeps getting better and better.”

Phelps is coming off a successful trip at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro as he won five gold medals and one silver medal. He has repeatedly said that he has no plans to make a comeback for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo as he focuses on his family at home.

He will serve as an assistant coach to Bob Bowman at Arizona State University.
