The NFL announced the league will host a women’s summit titled “In the Huddle to Advance Women in Sport” in downtown San Francisco on Feb. 4-5 to pay tribute to the role of sports in the lives of past and present female leaders as well as raising awareness of the role they can play for the next generation of leaders.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will share opening remarks before turning things over to Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who will deliver the event’s keynote address.
Serena Williams, Billie Jean King, Annika Sorenstam and ESPN’s Jessica Mendoza will be among other participants in the two-day event.
Jane Skinner Goodell, the former FOX News anchor and wife of the NFL commissioner, will moderate a panel titled “Media, Entertainment and Sports as a Platform.”
“When I was asked to take part, it was a no-brainer for me,” Skinner Goodell told USA Today. “I was really flattered and so excited. I love to ask questions being a former reporter myself and I also love to be part of something positive.”
