American Energy Partners, a new gas and oil exploration company formed by ex- Chesapeake Energy CEO Aubrey McClendon, is in the process of securing $1.2 billion in capital commitments, according to the WSJ. AEP plans to focus on Ohio, and reportedly is nearing equity investment agreements from Energy & Minerals Group ($500m equity) and First Reserve Corp. ($200m), while he also plans to secure $400 million in debt.
